AEON 1% CLUB - SCHOLARSHIP GRANTING CEREMONY (18 December 2015)

On the 18th December 2015, AEON is back in holding its AEON Scholarship Granting Ceremony in Pullman Hotel, Jakarta. This event is the fourth event for AEON in granting scholarship for university students from Universitas Indonesia and Universitas Padjajaran since 2012. Part of this event also included the report of Asia Youth Leaders 2015 activities. AEON Group in the world has committed to spare 1% of its profit before tax for social activities. This fund is managed by AEON 1% Club Foundation.

In this event, the scholarships were granted to 4 (four) students from Universitas Indonesia and 4 (four) students from Universitas Padjajaran. The event was opened by Mr. Toyofumi Kashi, the President Director PT AEON Indonesia, and then followed by the speech given by the guest of honor, Mr. Honsei Kozo, the Ambassador of Japan in Indonesia. The 1st phase of the scholarship grant was given to 4 (four) students from Universitas Indonesia and they were Lidya Corry from the Faculty of Law, Vidiya Arinanda from the Faculty of Economy, Andi Fajar Nur Ismail from Faculty of Information Technology, and Jesica Maprilia Putri Natipulu from the Faculty of Law. This handover of the scholarship grants were given by Mr. Toyofumi Kashi, the President Director of PT AEON Indonesia and Mr. Daisuke Isobe, the Director of PT AEON Mall Sinarmas Land Indonesia, while it was witnessed by Mr. Arman Nefi, S.H., M.M whom is the Director of Student Affairs in Universitas Indonesia.

On the 2nd phase of the scholarship granting, 4 (four) students from Universitas Padjajaran who received the scholarship were Nanda Najih Habibil Afif from the Faculty of Geology, Annisa Setyarti Putri from Faculty of English Literature, Cindy Jovita from Faculty of Management, and Jasmin Zarasani from Faculty of English Literature. The handover of the scholarships grant were given by Mr. Shiro Ishida, the President Director of PT AEON Credit Service Indonesia, and Mr. Kyoraku Koshi, the President Director of PT AEON Fantasy while witnessed by Dr. Ir. Herryawan Kemal Mustafa, M. Sc. who is the Director of Student Affairs in Universitas Padjajaran.

Furthermore, a short speech was given by each representative of the universities who talked about their dreams and hopes of their future. Universitas Indonesia was represented by Andi Fajar who told the story about his dream of becoming a data scientist in hope to contribute to Indonesia. Whilst, Jasmin Zarasani from Universitas Padjajaran expressed her excitement about how she is now able to focus in her studies as she no longer has financial worries.

Part of the AEON Scholarship Granting Ceremony event was report release of Asia Youth Leader 2015 activities. While enjoying their dinner, the guests were able to view the summary of the yearly event that took place this August 2015 in Tianjin, China.

The participants of Asia Youth Leader were the best 17 students of this country,
12 of which were high school students.
- 2 (two) students represented SMA N 2 Bandung
- 1 (one) student represented SMA N 6 Jakarta
- 2 (two) students represented SMA N 7 Tangerang Selatan
-
1 (one) student represented SMA N 78 Jakarta
- 2 (two) students represented Santa Ursula Jakarta
- 1 (one) student represented SMA N 21 Jakarta
- 2 (one) students represented SMA N 68 Jakarta
- 1 (one) student represented SMA Bunda Hati Kudus Bogor
As well as 5 university students from Universitas Indonesia participated in the event.

These 17 ambassadors have joined with other Youth Leaders from all over Asia to discuss for environmental solutions in Tianjin, China. One of its participants from Universitas Indonesia, Rangga Husnaprawira Rasjad, gave a speech of his participation experience in this program.

AEON hopes that this consistent contribution will continue to give positive social impacts for Indonesia.
